Customer Guidelines
- Customers are reminded that all refuse and recyclables must be grouped together at curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection day. Between memorial and Labor Days the time moves to 6 a.m. Collections do not follow any time schedule; therefore, trash and recyclables must be placed curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection to guarantee pick-up. The contracted hauler is not responsible to return for trash that has been set out late.
- All items to be collected must be placed within 10 feet of the curb or the road right-of-way (except for customers who pay for door service).
- All refuse and recycling must be properly contained and protected from animals until time of pick-up. Refuse can be containerized in plastic bags or using containers that do not exceed 35 gallons per municipal ordinances.
- Customers are responsible for cleanup of disturbed or scattered garbage due to animals, weather, vandalism, or other causes not specifically created by the trash collection company.
- MAXIMUM weight for individual waste containers (cans or bags) is 40 pounds each. Containers should NOT EXCEED 35 gallons per municipal solid waste ordinances.
- Empty containers should be removed no later than midnight on the day of collection. Refuse and recycling containers must be stored inside or adjacent to the residence when not placed curbside for collection. Containers may NOT be continuously placed at the curb.
- Recycling bins are to remain with the property when sold or transferred. Residents with newly constructed homes can obtain a complimentary recycling bin from Waste Management by calling 866-272-6861. Replacement bins are $7.00 per bin. If bins are damaged or lost, call WM for instructions on how to obtain a replacement bin.
