With over 10 years of experience in outdoor recreation, trail construction, and land conservation, Eric is now focused on the design and management of recreational trails within the Rothrock State Forest. Before joining DCNR’s team, Eric served as a Foreman for a professional trail building company, Dirt Artisans, which led to the construction of local trails including Colyer Lake Trail (Hobie Trail), Harvest Fields Phase I, and Jakes Rocks. His work can also be found across other midwest states including; Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan, with a diversity ranging from backpacking trails to bike parks. Eric’s passion for the outdoors and adventure has led to many experiences such as continental bike touring, becoming a fly fishing guide, and continues to better his knowledge to share and instruct others in natural landscapes.
