2012 Regional Development Capacity (REDCAP) Report
Regional development capacity is defined as the number of dwelling units and the amount of non-residential square footage (commercial, industrial, office) that is currently approved or currently zoned for development inside the Regional Growth Boundary/Sewer Service Area (RGB/SSA).
Calculating the number of dwelling units and non-residential square footage of development can help determine the amount of sewage treatment and discharge capacity that is available over the long term at the UAJA Pollution Control Facility.
The 2012 Regional Development Capacity Report addresses the following questions:
- What is the history and purpose of the Regional Growth Boundary/Sewer Service Area?
- Why is the RGB/SSA an important tool to manage growth and development in the region?
- How much vacant land is currently inside the RGB/SSA?
- How many dwelling units are approved, but not yet constructed?
- How many dwelling units can be built on vacant land, based upon current zoning?
- How many square feet of non-residential development is approved?
- What is the impact on sewage treatment and discharge capacity at the UAJA Spring Creek Pollution Control Facility?
- How could these numbers influence future growth and development in the region?
