Where can I find more information about the Borough of State College organics recycling program?

The Borough of State College is leading the way with their successful residential organics recycling program.  As the first program of its kind east of the Mississippi, residents diverted nearly 1000 tons of organic material from the landfill in 2014.  Public Works has begun to add commercial customers to their organics collection route. As restaurants, grocery stores and schools begin to divert their discarded organics from the waste stream, we can expect the number of tons to increase dramatically in the coming year.
