Centre Region Specific News:
- Summer Festivals: The organizers of 4th Fest, the People's Choice Festival, Arts Fest and Heritage Days announced the cancellations of their events due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
- United Way: The Centre County United Way is soliciting donations to help support their non profit agencies that are providing front line help to local families. You can donate here: https://www.ccunitedway.org/
- The United Way will hold the #liveunitedlive, a Facebook live concert, on April 24th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on their facebook page. The event will raise money for the United Way. You can find more information here: https://www.facebook.com/centrecountyunitedway
News from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:
- The Governor extended the Stay At Home Order to April 30th. The order has been extended to cover the entire state.
- There are now 29,441 cases in PA. There are 73 cases in Centre County. The County reported its first death from COVID-19.
- The Governor just signed a new order on worker safety that has specific requirements for life sustaining businesses. Customers visiting life sustaining businesses are also now required to wear masks and can be denied entry for not wearing one. The order goes into effect on April 19th at 8:00 PM.
