April 21, 2020: COVID-19 Update from the Centre Region Emergency Management Program

Centre Region Specific News:

Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority: Visitors to the Transfer Station are now required to wear masks.

State College Borough: The Borough has cancelled all special events through June 30th.

The United Way will hold the #liveunitedlive, a Facebook live concert, on April 24th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on their facebook page. The event will raise money for the United Way. You can find more information here: https://www.facebook.com/centrecountyunitedway

News from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

The Governor extended the Stay At Home Order to May 8th. The Governor said a regional approach will be used to reopen the state after that date. He further indicated that the targeted reopening will allow online auto sales, curbside pick up at state stores and limited construction operations to resume after May 8th. There are now 34,528 cases in PA. There are 77 cases in Centre County. Two deaths have been reported. 605 people have tested negative for COVID-19.
