September 3, 2020: COVID-19 Update from the Centre Region Emergency Management Program

Centre Region Specific News:
  • Centre Region Emergency Management Program: The EOC resumed weekly briefings. In keeping with that, we will resume sending updates to the elected officials in the COG. Look for weekly updates, unless something changes.
  • Penn State: The University has a robust FAQ section on its virus website. The page includes information that is broken down specifically for students, parents, faculty and staff and community members. You can find that website here: https://virusinfo.psu.edu/faq/topic/latest-updates
  • State College Area School District: The School District announced changes to its in person instruction. The district will not be in session on Friday, September 4th, as it continues to monitor case levels in accordance with its health and safety plan.   • State College Borough: The Borough launched Sustain State College, which is a coordinated municipal response to providing emergency resources to Borough residents, businesses, and owners during the COVID-19 pandemic. News from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

  • As of September 2nd, there are 131,752 cases in PA. 1,552,085 people have tested negative for COVID-19.
  • As of September 2nd, there are 491 cases in Centre County. 15,240 people have tested negative for COVID-19.
