Building Permit Fees
When calculating your building permit fee, a few things to keep in mind:
- Act 157 of the PA Uniform Construction Code requires that all code agencies collect a $4.50 surcharge for every permit issued. Make sure to add $4.50 to the permit fee you calculate.
- The CRCA has a minimum permit fee of $55.50. Construction projects with a declared cost of $7,930.00 or less will be charged a permit fee of $55.50, updated 1/1/22
- All Commercial projects will be charged a $75.00 application fee at the time of plan submittal.
- All Residential projects will be charged a $35.00 application fee at the time of plan submittal.
- Building permit applications must be accompanied by a non-refundable minimum payment equal to 40% of the total permit fee. Plan review will not start until this fee has been received.
- Below is a permit fee calculator to assist you in determining the 40% deposit, based on type of construction, square foot of space, and level of construction. Keep in mind, the declared cost is the total cost for project including materials and labor.
- Additional Plan Review Fees: There will be a fee for any subsequent plan review after the second review. ($130.00/hr)
