Detached Shed & Garage

Sheds - The Centre Region Code Agency requires shed permits when the proposed structure is 120 square feet or larger, and if the structure will be built on a permanent foundation. Please also contact your local municipality regarding zoning review and approval.

 

Detached Garages - Prior to applying for a building permit the owner must first fill out an application and obtain a zoning permit from the local municipality. To apply for a building permit zoning approval and 2 sets of building plans drawn to scale must be submitted. Please visit the single family home/addition submittal guide to help with the level of detail and information required on both sets of plans; only submittal guide items that are applicable to your project need to be detailed on both sets of plans. The permit applicant is responsible to provide the construction details and information on the plans to verify code compliance.
