Renovations

Prior to applying for a building renovation permit, the owner must first fill out an application and obtain zoning approval. Building permit applications must include zoning approval from the local municipality and 2 sets of building plans drawn to scale. Plans must include the existing plan view of the area renovated and the proposed or “new” layout. The plans must include enough information to verify the size and type of any structural elements added or changed. A registered Pa design professional may be required to verify in writing any structural changes.

Note: Home renovations that do not include structural alterations do not require a permit in Halfmoon Township and Bellefonte Borough.
