GHG Emissions Inventory
The Centre Region’s ability to take effective action on mitigating climate change and monitor progress, depends on having access to good quality data on GHG emissions. The first milestone, a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory, was compiled in 2019 and identified the GHG emissions for the Centre Region community in 2016 were 824,209 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MTCO2e). This equates to an annual average carbon footprint of 10.21 MTCO2e per person.
Centre Region COG will use the GHG inventory results to establish emissions reduction targets,
identify tangible actions aimed at reducing GHG emissions, and measure progress toward achieving those targets.
Below are 4 documents. Three are to learn more about the Centre Region community's inventory results: Infographic, Executive Summary and GHG Inventory & Methodology Report. The fourth document provides an overview of the GHG emissions inventory for the COG operations only.
