Area Plans
While the Centre Region Comprehensive Plan provides a solid foundation for addressing regional planning challenges, the successful implementation of regional planning principles requires a more detailed study of strategic areas of the community. The following documents are the culmination of multi-year studies by the Centre Regional Planning Agency, as directed by Steering Committees comprised of elected and appointed officials from each of the study areas.
Halfmoon Township Small Area Plan
In 2017, the Halfmoon Township Board of Supervisors formed a Steering Committee and directed the Committee to prepare a Small Area Plan for the eastern area of the Township that was designated as Mixed Use in the Centre Region Comprehensive Plan.
Boalsburg Small Area Plan
In 2013, the Harris Township Board of Supervisors appointed 15 residents to the Small Area Plan Committee and charged them with the following mission:
“To prepare a small area plan that establishes a long range vision to guide the future growth and development of the Boalsburg area.”
Halfmoon Township and Patton Township Area Plan
The Halfmoon Township and Patton Township Area Plan provides detailed recommendations on how to best plan for future land uses around the municipal boundary between the Townships.
State College Land Area Plan
The State College Land Area Plan is a very detailed and specific comprehensive land use plan for the Borough of State College and parts of the adjacent municipalities of College and Ferguson Townships.
