Recycle at Home - Residential
Recycling is mandatory for every resident, business, office and institution in the Centre Region under Pennsylvania Act 101 enacted in 1988 and under township ordinances. Recycling is not just good for the environment and the economy, it’s the law.
When it comes to recycling at home, the residents of the Centre Region are leaders. The Centre Region Council of Governments is proud of the recycling efforts of our residents and businesses and we thank you for your participation.
Single-family Houses and some Townhomes: Red Bin
Recyclable items are collected weekly at the curb in your red recycling bin. Your collection day is the same for both trash and recycling. If you need a red bin (replacement or an additional one) please contact Advanced Disposal at (814) 265-1975. Click the Recycle at Home button to learn more about what materials can be recycled at home in your red bin.
Multi-family Units--Apartments and some Townhomes: Blue Carts
Recyclable items are collected weekly in your blue recycling cart and a corrugated cardboard dumpster by your hauler or through a contract between your hauler and the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority. Click the Recycle at Home button to learn more about what materials can be recycled at home in your blue carts.
Beyond the Curbside Program: There are other items that can be recycled but not in your curbside red bin or blue carts.
