Local Planning
The CRPA provides both regional and local planning services to its member municipalities.
Local Planning services involve staff support to individual municipalities to address more localized planning issues. These services include the review of subdivision and land development plans, preparation of ordinances and regulations to implement the regional comprehensive plan, special studies related to specific issues or areas within a municipality, and staff support to municipal planning commissions.

Best Practices for Development Review and Permitting
Preparation of a Best Practices Guide for Development Review and Permitting was a high priority implementation task from the Centre Region Economic Development Assessment (EDA). The CRPA worked with individuals representing engineers, developers and the construction industry, and municipal officials during preparation of the document. The Best Practices Guide contains a menu of options that municipalities in the Centre Region can choose to implement. A number of best practices can be completed administratively with existing resources. Others may require approval from the governing body. Each municipality should choose best practices that satisfy the resources available.
