Refuse and Recycling Service Description
What, When and How Much is Collected Weekly
- Trash and recycling need to be out by 7AM EXCEPT FOR THE SUMMER MONTHS. Between Memorial and Labor Days, all trash and recycling need to be out by 6 AM.
- Please leave 3 feet to the sides between your refuse cart and any other objects, such a mailboxes, recycling, trees, and fences.
- All weekly refuse must be placed in your hauler-owned refuse cart with the lid closed. Extra bags may be placed near the cart (please leave 3 feet between bags and the cart) and will be assessed a $4.00 fee for each extra bag. Do not use your own trash can.
- Household refuse secured in bags.
- Small items that fit in the cart.
- Garden waste (weeds, spent plants, pine cones, apples, acorns) that are bagged.
What you cannot place for collection in or next to your refuse cart:
- Extra bags outside of the cart that are in excess of forty (40) pounds each
- Items that do not fit in the cart (Please schedule a bulk waste collection)
- Items that stick out of the cart
- Tires (Please schedule for a bulk recyclables collection.)
- Covered device electronics, including televisions, computers, printers, cell phones (Please schedule a bulk recyclables collection)
- Liquid paints, latex or oil based
- Household hazardous waste (pesticides, herbicides, antifreeze, motor oil)
- Radioactive medical waste or needles, not properly prepared via 7 day hold time and/or proper needle containment
- Dead animals
- Concrete (concrete causes damage to the truck)
- Soil, sod, stones, rocks, or bricks
- Vehicle batteries, batteries for lawn equipment, and rechargeable batteries
- Grass clippings
- Leaves, loose or bagged
- Brush, loose or bundled
Twice Each Year - Bulk Collection:
The rates paid by residential customers include two free bulk waste collections per year, two items each time for a maximum of 4 bulk waste items. Also included are two free bulk recyclables collections per year, two items each time for a maximum of 4 bulk recyclable items. Bulk recyclables include covered-device electronics (televisions, computers, printers), appliances, and tires (4 tires = 1 item) removed from rim for recycling. You will need to schedule each collection and will receive a confirmation of the scheduled day of collection. All items scheduled for collection must be at the curb by 7 AM, including for residences with door service.

Recycling Collection
Recycling is collected weekly in your Red Bin on the same day as your refuse collection. Have your red bin at the curb by 7 AM (6 AM from Memorial through Labor Days).
Place the following in your red bin:
- loose plastic bottles, jugs, and jars - empty and rinsed
- loose glass bottles, jugs, and jars - empty and rinsed
- metal cans - empty and rinsed
- aluminum foil (pans and folded wraps, clean)
- bagged paper and paper board ( all paper other than facial or toilet paper, boxes such as cereal boxes)
- corrugated cardboard, boxes flattened, placed under the recycling bin.
